King of Pain 04:02

about

In light of recent developments in the Punkrock and Emo scene around the world, Cadet Carter have decided to take a stand against sexual violence against women. Teaming up with well-known US singer/songwriter Dave Hause, the College Rockers have recorded a cover version of the 1983 Police classic King Of Pain. The artwork of this digital single was created by Simon Marchner from Munich.

The song will be released as a charity, supporting German organisation Wildwasser (wild waters). Wildwasser is an independent organisation providing help and support for women that have experienced sexual violence and/or sexual assault. Operating all over Germany, Wildwasser also runs an office in Cadet Carter's hometown of Munich. Accordingly, the song Cadet Carter and Dave Hause have recorded together deals with a lot of emotions and problems many victims of sexual violence have to deal with on a daily basis: King Of Pain is about the pain people experience after traumatic personal events while being unable to cope with the effects of those events or even being able to talk about them to other people.
